Nesting!

Don't mind me....I'm just nesting in Mom's yarn.
Love her SO SO much!

Christmas Card Helper

Overseeing Christmas card addressing...important work.
She must have decided to leave the addressing to my capable hands...that or she was so unimpressed with my ability that she just couldn't look any more. {heart} her!heart emoticon

"Backyard" Birdies

I love my "backyard" birdies. They love the suet cake. I could watch for hours and I see all kinds of different birds back there.

Annual Portland Christmas Tree Lighting

As per our now (3rd?) Annual Trek to downtown Portland the day after Thanksgiving for the Christmas Tree Lighting here you go! There was A LOT of rain. We were soaked. Jenny, Sara, Jenny's boyfriend and his kids and myself all went. And...at Sara's home was waiting a smorgasbord of soups and breads for us to partake in in the warmth of Sara's home (oh, and hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps-the best) for some warmth and dessert!

The crew....almost all dried off. What a fun evening with lovely people and yummy soups and chili and goodness all around! Merry Christmas!

Baby blanket love for Leo!

As soon as I found out that my dear friend, Danielle was having a baby boy I started this blanket. Traditionally, I have only crocheted baby blankets for my Godchildren and I don't start them until after they are born and are baptized and then they are gifts for their first Baptismal Anniversary. This is the first time I deviated from that tradition as baby Leo is not a Godchild of mine and I finished this baby blanket for him before he was born! Woohoo! I loved the yarn and the colors!

The joy of being behind on blogging and catching up from months in the past is that I can fast forward in a single blog post from November to the end of January when I first met baby Leo and gifted him his blanket...tada! There is that precious babe!

A Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday~

A Thanksgiving Throwback Thursday to 10 yrs ago when I got to spend T-day with friends in NYC. We were in Times Square for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and saw lots more. Where's the time gone?!

Mary, Holly, Me  Nov 25th 2004.

Garfield's deflated hand after it snagged on a stop light. We got to see it pre-deflate and post deflate....

Lovely creativity!

I love the creativity in my friends. I'd given a friend flowers in this vase and when she returned the vase it was full of epsom salts and a plastic flamingo and umbrella...she was wishing us to Hawaii while she was putting it together and I'm wishing us there now!

Happy Halloween from the Cat in the Hat!

"And then something went BUMP!
how that bump made us jump!
we looked!
then we saw him step in on the mat!
we looked!
and we saw him!
the cat in the hat!"

I made my Halloween costume this year. I feel accomplished. A year ago I had seen a Cat in the Hat costume and then had seen a Cat in the Hat hat and bow tie crochet pattern on Pinterest and I thought, "Hey, I could make that." So made it, I did. I think it turned out well.
The kiddos also loved testing it out when they saw it tonight!

Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!
